23rd Meeting of the DPG working group Population Dynamics and Epidemiology

14./15. December 2021; Quedlinburg, Julius Kühn-Institut

Please register below at "Registration for working group meeting" once the registration portal is activated.

After a break of several years we are now going ahead and plan the next meeting of the DPG working group Population Dynamics and Epidemiology. We hope that Covid-19-restrictions will be lifted by then - otherwise we will organise an online-meeting.

The goal of the meeting will be to highlight population dynamics questions not only in regard to entomology, but also connecting them to fungi pathogens. We look forward to presentations about successes of insect traps, fungi pathogens (e.g. race evolution of grain rusts) as well as genetic reasons for changes in population dynamics and population compositions. But we are just as glad to receive presentation proposals from other topical areas.

We look forward to a broad range of presentations and an exciting exchange of results and ideas.

  • Exchange of experiences with population dynamics of arthropods (spiders and insects) and pathogens
  • Information about and discussion of epidemiology and the epidemic spread of pests and pathogens
  • The working group offers a platform to present new research results, especially for doctoral and diploma candidates
  • Population dynamics of pest and beneficial populations as well as pathogens
  • Epidemiology of pathogens
  • Beneficial organisms as bio-indicators
  • Ecological studies in the field of a “green genetic engineering”

The working group “Population Dynamics and Epidemiology” is jointly sustained by the „Deutsche Phytomedizinischen Gesellschaft (DPG)“ and the „Gesellschaft für allgemeine und angewandte Entomologie (DGaaE)“. Participants are colleagues from scientific institutions, public services, and industrial corporations specializing in the fields of applied entomology, population dynamics of pests and pathogens, and epidemiology. The working group meets bi-annually at different locations.
